Elaine McGuckin The head of emergency services in the Canaries, Juan Manuel Santana, said in a statement that "the two points are located at two nautical miles and 1.5 miles southwest of (the village of) La Restinga".
The first eruption occurred at a depth of 700 metres (2,300 feet)

Ross Kelly This is not an Earth threatening asteroid, it just came up in a google alert but it connects two current themes -
A team of amateur astronomers has discovered a previously unknown asteroid in orbit that brings it near the Earth, highlighting the contributions regular folks can make to planetary defense, scientists announced Wednesday (Oct. 12).
The skywatchers spotted the asteroid, which is known as 2011 SF108, in September using a telescope in the Canary Islands.
Ross Kelly It is interesting that the first link to the Bond theme started with the death of a coal miner and that coal mines use Canary's to warn the miners about the presence of danger (gas) in the mine.
It's also interesting that the OO symbol in the code symbolises both Omega 2 (2 asteroids) and death by use of the OO licensed to kill connection to the Bond books and that here are 7 Canary islands.

unsure what you mean by the 10-10 copy...does that mean you understand, as in 10-4 roger, I copy that, which is what I am used to hearing in the states, with 10-10 meaning transmission complete, standing by.
ReplyDeleteLooks like Elaine made an 'error' there but it still brought CB (32)into the stream and it's actually that that matters. Or maybe that's a term she's heard used...I don't know but it was familiar to me too when she 'said' it.
ReplyDeleteThanks for bringing it to our attention because there may be a reason for the 'end of transmission' message.
It seems to me that the Ana code warning may be coming to it's end because the things it has been warning about are very close now. Have to wait and see!
